been made a lieutenant, Chief of Security even though he been carrying out the duties of such one when he was an assistant chief of security.</span>
<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white"> He still getting used to his new rank, being addressed as "Lieutenant " and no longer "ensign” any more. He had his work cut out, now having a department of his own to run. His responsibilities
no longer revolved around what he had to do, but rather what he had to get others to do, Now it was official and the most fact of all, that he was a policy maker. He had plans to re-organise the Security department to make it more efficient. His thoughts
turn to making a conspicuous examination of the tablet PADD laid out in front of him. He looked up and gaze across the four cadets who arrived aboard the Illuminar two hours ago. They certainly looked young, fresh out of the Academy and enthusiastic. Probably
eager to please as well<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white">Security Officers are part of Starfleet Security and are responsible for security aboard all Starfleet and some Federation outposts, vessels, and facilities. In
this function, they act in ways analogous to local and regional police agencies, but Starfleet Security's mandate extends much farther than that. The agency is responsible for maintaining and enforcing Starfleet Security regulations, procedures and policies
on all Starfleet and affiliated facilities, outposts, and vessels. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white">One of the primary duties of the Security department on board the Illuminar is safeguarding vital areas that may be vulnerable to theft or sabotage, or that might
draw intruders. I am talking about such areas which include the bridge, main engineering, the central computer core, cargo bays containing valuable goods, the shuttle bays, and the brig. When the ship t, guards are routinely posted at security stations on
the decks located near these vital areas, able to monitor the security scanners and respond quickly if there is a need.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

allowing no one but the Captain and First Officer access. You will allow access to authorized crewmembers unless ordered otherwise. The Captain, First Officer, or Security Chief can also give certain crewmembers access privileges, as needed.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white">Under red alert, security guards are posted on all decks, as well as vital areas of the ship. If an intruder alert is sounded, security personnel guard all turbolift

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white">A prime duty of Security is safeguarding the commanding officer of the Starship. Captain Sekal and he is considered a vital element of the ship, and treated accordingly.
The captain should have a security escort at all times in red alert situations, and when beaming down into any situation that might become dangerous. The Security Chief helps to safeguard the captain while on the bridge, but additional security personnel should
be present if trouble is expected.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white">Part of safeguarding the captain involves performing security sweeps of areas before the captain enters or beams into them. Security personnel check for any potential
hazards and ensure they are within reasonable limits before the captain arrives.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white">As part of security, you will form a vital part of Away Team Missions and every away team have at least one security officer or more. When you are assigned to an
Away team, your role is to remain alert for any signs of danger to the crew. Safeguard the lives of all away team members and of course, you will probably be engaged in gathering tactical and strategic information regarding any possible threats.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>

a three-shift system on this ship. Alpha shift – 0600-1400; Beta – 1400 to 2200 and Gamma Shift 2200 to 0600. Its also known as the graveyard shift which Mr Loceu will probably explain. Also, it is a good opportunity for you to spend more time with Mr Loceu
during the graveyard shift.”<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333;background:white">Any enthusiasm felt by the four cadets dissipated at the thought of having a Klingon being their mentor. Cadet Eish thought to himself that this maybe a challenge
too far for him. Especially as Andorians traditionally never got on too well with Klingons. Any idea of having an easy relaxing breaking in period thought Winston, was now of the window. Cadet Wong who never been too successful in physical training was now
wondering what the instructor has up his sleeve. Jane Walker thought if Ensign Loceu would go easy on her!
