Bottom line up front. Al is the most correct in this situation.
Initially there wasn't a ton of movement, so off line I told the XO to get
people over there. It's where the action is, it's where you guys need to
go. Which he gave the order and divided everyone up evenly. Al had pointed
out to me off line, that job-wise, having you go with the medical team
isn't the *best* fit. You were assigned to the research as your primary
function, so having you go with that team makes the most sense because
there will be less confusion once everyone is over on the station. Everyone
is / was doing as they were directed to, and no one is wrong. However, in
this instance, it's the most right and correct thing to do, and have Imka
go with the Sec Chief and follow that subplot. Role-playing wise Imka was
correct to question conflicting orders, and you're doing a great job
writing for her. I take responsibility for the hiccup; we'll smooth things
out better in the future. Right now, the plot awaits you and your team, on
the station.
