HADESNRPG: Posting Format

Greetings Officers of the Hades,
It has come to my attention that standards on formatting have had
occasional lapses. In the past I have let these lapses slide either because
the compile wizard elected to "fix it in post", there wasn't any compiling
or now with myself in the center chair I didn't want to scare anyone off
and I was happy as long as they were posting. With this first mission, and
with me taking the compiling duties, any help in making this task easier is
welcome. I'm asking that you adhere to the established format a little more
closely.

(Big Location - Section, Optional Sublocation - Position, Rank Name in
cultural order - Time in whole minutes without colon.)

so

(USS Hades - Deck 10, Cargo Bay 4 - MCO, Major Sean Masters - 1433)

is acceptable so is

(USS Hades - Port Launch Tube, Titan 3 - Pilot, Lieutenant Pete Mitchel  -
1721)

also

(USS Hades - Personal Quarters - Recreation Activities Director, Ako Kellis
- 0303)

Some people have been using the decks as their subsection and that's
acceptable, as is by sections like Alpha Engineering, Bridge, Observation
Lounge. However if two people are posting to the same location, take steps
to ensure that you are both using the same format. if you have more than
two interactions if they are parallel or intersecting, one should adopt the
other's format.

Example two people on the bridge, one person is using Deck 1, Bridge, the
other is using just Bridge or Main Bridge, both get the point across and
are acceptable, as long as the ship is together, then we'd have to get more
specific if it separates.

Posts should be generally organized enough to be readable. Excessive manual
paragraph breaks to place the lines the way you wish, might come across
differently on someone else's email. Let larger paragraphs word wrap.
Excessive paragraph breaks will make the whole email disjointed and
unreadable.

In the end, however I don't want animosity to be the result of anyone being
asked to adjust a post. For the time being we will have a procedure for
corrections made, "on the spot". Corrections or suggestions for corrections
will be made off list privately, addressing to the poster in question,
respectfully and having me be CCd for all correspondences involving
corrections.  Mostly I want these to be taking a post that is
dysfunctional and making it functional. Posts should be generally free of
errors, as in I'm not going to have everyone repost for every single
spelling error. Formatting errors though should be avoided if possible, as
we're trying to make this monumental task of compiling a little easier to
shoulder.
