(USS Hades - Deck 12, Triage Station - Civilian Mackenzie Dyson - 1211)

"Which Battlestar Series? The late 20th Century or the early 21st century?"

"The early 21st century one." Mac began. ~The earlier one was a bit silly.~
And it had been open ended, whereas the second version had a complete
story.  "Dad and I fly a Raptor. He's the pilot and I'm the ECO."

"My cousin Ragvender was into Battlestar Galactica. I learned a bit about
it because he would talk about it constantly."

"So, that's who you ended up knowing about the show ?"

"Not at first. When I first went to live with my Aunt, my cousin Rag would
call me a Cylon. I wanted to know what that was so I looked it up."

"That wasn't very nice of him," Mac said. "But the female models were
pretty ladies, so make it into a compliment."

"There is one more thing we need to talk about." Mac bit her lower lip.
"You see, before we went here, dad took me to the part of Mars where he
grew up. But his childhood was rough and the thought of going back
there...Well, he got drunk for the first time in fifteen years...."

She paused and bit her lip again as she searched for the proper words. ~No
sugarcoating it.~ "....and then, he got married to Ensign Johnson. She's in
the medical department."

Mac nodded. "It's kind of....awkward. I think she's a nice lady, or at
least she's nice to me. But she and dad really don't get along. She thinks
he's an idiot."

"I do have one last question," She ran a hand through her hair. "Is there a
place where I can get a haircut ? Because I can't put the helmet on with
this." Her hair was long, curly and black.
