Day 6

(USS Hades – Williams' Office – CFO – LCDR – Ire Williams - 1719)

 

“I will speak to Lieutenant Frost and see what we can sort out. I can’tpromise anything before our departure, but we will see what we can do.”

 

"Thank you, sir."

 

“No problem.”

 

"I'll be in my office, hammering out those rosters, sir," 

 

“Good luck with that.”

 

He watched as Dyson left the office. He then grabbed a cup of tea fromthe replicator and then sat down at his desk. 

 

“Okay so we are getting 6 mk5 Valkyries and as well as a backup craft.”

 

He looked at the schematics as well as the equipment stores needed torun a squadron. He smiled to himself as memories flooded back to the sameinformation that he needed when running the void haunters. An idea floated backinto his mind that he had thought about, and he smiled. 

 

“Why not its worth a try.”

 

He opened a comm channel to squadron leader Sonnlo Caonrobh and waitedfor her to connect. There was a pause as the familiar face looked back at him.

 

“Hallo Ire.” She paused and looked his for a moment. “It looks like congratulationsare in order.”

 

He nodded.

 

“Yes my promotion was quite sudden.”

 

She shook her head.

 

“No, you moron Greta being pregnant.”

 

Ire paused for a moment As Sonnlo smiled at him.

“How did you know we have not told may people yet.”



She pointed to herself. “Ex-merc remember I did a lot of intel ops so Iknow people and there was no way you could keep that a secret from me.”

 

Ire nodded. “I suppose so, but I do have a favour to ask you.”

 

“Sure, what it is.”

 

“I am working Trinity Frost in the Hades and she was talking about herold peregrine fighter that she tinkered with when we were based on Mars.”

 

Sonnlo smiled and nodded. 

 

“Yes, we have to move it a few months ago due to expansion works on the flightline but it was placed into long term storage.”

 

“Is it possible to get it up to us before we leave in three days?”

 

“Do you want it flyable?”

 

“Is that possible I was thinking of having her as one of the reservebirds.”

 

“It should be done. I guess you don’t want Trinity to know about this.”

 

“Yes, I want it to be a surprise. Greta is her number 2 in FlightEngineering I would go through her or pass it to me if there are any complications.”

 

“Don’t worry once I tell the chief that we are moving Trinity’s fighterthey will over the moon. No one seams to be able to fly it proper apart fromher and they have been wanting to scrap her for a while. I am glad that she isgoing back to her.”

 

“Great thank you.”

 

“No problem. Now that’s out of the way. Tell me Ire Williams about yourbaby and how Greta is before I come up there a make you.”

 

Ire grinned and started talking
