(USS Hades - Restaurant/Mess Hall - Mac Dyson - 1407)

"I know it sounds trite but you cross that bridge when it happens. Wondering how someone will react to that kind of thing will only bring you misery. You never know, he might surprise you."

"You really think so ?" Mac asked.

"Trust me when I say people can change. Speaking from personal experience, I changed. I wasn't the person you see before you. Went through a bad patch when I was younger and I came through. Give your dad a chance."

"Thank you for the advice..." ~A lot can change between now and then.~ After all, if you had told her last year that she would soon be living on a Federation ship, she would have called you crazy. "...Miss, uh ?" She realized that she had no idea what the barkeep was called. 

"Oh… blast. I forgot to introduce myself. Caity. Caity DuBois… well actually now that should change. I got married recently."

"Really ?" Mac said. "So what is it now ?"

"Caity Bracken. "

Mac swallowed. ~The barkeep is married to the CAPTAIN ?~ Which meant that every word she had just said would be in some report before the end of the day. She had to admit it was smart. ~Like Tal Shiar levels smart.~ 

"It was nice to meet you." Mac said with a nervous smile. "Bye."

Mackenzie walked out of the restaurant. She had already said too much. "Note to self, no personal talk in the restaurant. Or else you'll be blacklisted by the end of the week." SFI was probably already watching her.
