Matthew is the oldest of 7 Children, and the first and only to enter Starfleet. His parents were civilian scientists. He entered Starfleet Academy at the age of 18 to get away from the Science world. But it just seemed to drag him back in.

2494-Upon graduation Matthew was assigned to the USS Alacrity under Captain JT Talasario. He was one of the crew who defected from Doenitz forces to LoDona. He started his career in the tactical department.

USS Humboldt
2408When Talasario took command of the science ship USS Humboldt, Matthew went with him, but due to his experience with science was moved over to the science department as a Lt. JG and ACSO.

USS Spectre
2408.06.08Matthew was transferred to the USS Spectre, at the same time as other officers of the Humboldt were being transferred there.

He is a skilled scientist, as well as skilled in hand to hand combat, and is particularly found of the sports of Judo and fencing.
